Reasons why this post is stupid:

1. You are tokenizing your friends who are gay.  You are saying that because one lesbian and one gay man appear to find your joke amusing, that makes any kind of statement about your right to say that word.  It doesn’t.
2. You are implying that gay people who dislike hearing the word (like me!) , especially when used by straight people, are somehow less worthy of an opinion than gay people who go along with your joke.
3. Why would you want to use a word that’s used to oppress people?  Why would you want to use a word that people scream as they’re beating people to death?
4. Saying “faggot” isn’t even funny.  Get a new joke.  Be creative.  If you’re that bad at being funny, then give up on trying to be humorous because you have an awful sense of humor.
5. Really you’re not funny.
6. Also you’re an ass.

I shouldn’t have said “It’s not funny” because I presume it is funny for some people.  However, it’s probably the least clever form of humor ever and I can’t imagine why anyone would find it funny.  It’s wrong for you to find it funny, not because I don’t find it funny, because it hurts people.  It’s wrong for you to revel in people’s pain and oppression.  It’s cruel and somewhat psychopathic.

And everyone else up there is a dick.  ”Not bowing to PC police” does not make you sound like a badass.  It just makes you sound like an asshole.  PCness is just being a decent human being - sorry you find the idea of that so offensive. (I find it amusing you’re offended by people being offended.  You’re still offended in the end of the day, so I’m not sure you’re any better.  The only difference is instead of expressing what you find offensive with rationality, you express your feelings with slurs.)

(Also, btw, I should have clarified that this post has nothing to do with taking back slurs.  If you are part of the LGBTQ community and would like to use slurs (directed at yourself or other people who are comfortable with you doing so), you are free to do that.  I choose not to take back slurs, but if you are also gay, you have that right.  I assume the OP of the post I screencapped is not gay because “normal people” are distinguished from lesbian and gay people - which is another thing about the post that pissed me off when I noticed it.)

Actually, I’m perfectly fine with you saying “It’s not funny” in the first place because it’s not funny, and if you think it’s funny, you should take a step back and think about everything posted above and then think about whether or not it should be funny, and what it says about you.

#Why do people automatically default to “I DO WHAT I WANT I DON’T NEED TO BE PC” when it’s not about PC in the first place? #I would have replaced “somewhat psychopathic” with “completely ignorant” but the essential sentiment is still there
